WaterRower Original Series

WaterRower Original Series Wooden Rowing Machine

Experience the natural rhythm of rowing at home with the WaterRower Original Series. Combining traditional craftsmanship with innovative water resistance technology, this premium rowing machine delivers a smooth, realistic workout in a beautifully designed hardwood frame. Handcrafted in New England, it brings together durability, comfort and timeless style, making it an excellent addition to both modern home gyms and dedicated fitness spaces. Each Original Series model provides the same signature rowing performance, with different hardwood finishes available to suit your personal preference.

Patented WaterFlywheel Technology

At the heart of the WaterRower Original Series is its patented WaterFlywheel system, engineered to recreate the natural sensation of rowing on water. Resistance responds directly to the force of each stroke, allowing you to control your workout intensity through your own effort. The water level inside the tank can also be adjusted to change the feel of the rowing experience, providing a smooth and consistent motion throughout every session.

Comprehensive Full-Body Training

The WaterRower supports an effective full-body workout by engaging the legs, core, back, shoulders and arms in a coordinated movement. This combination of muscle engagement and cardiovascular exercise makes it suitable for improving endurance, developing strength and supporting overall fitness. Whether you prefer relaxed, steady-paced rowing or challenging interval sessions, the resistance naturally adapts to how hard you pull.

Smooth, Low-Impact Exercise

Water resistance creates a fluid rowing motion without the harsh impact associated with many weight-bearing exercises. The continuous movement allows you to maintain a controlled pace while working multiple muscle groups. This low-impact training approach can be a useful option for people seeking regular cardiovascular exercise with less repetitive impact on their joints.

Comfortable Seat and Precise Movement

Designed to replicate the layout of a rowing shell, the WaterRower features dual wooden rails that guide the seat smoothly throughout each stroke. Eight ball-bearing rollers support consistent movement, while adjustable footboards and securing straps help you maintain a stable rowing position. Together, these features promote a comfortable and controlled workout experience.

S4 Performance Monitor with Bluetooth

Every WaterRower Original Series machine includes the S4 Performance Monitor with Bluetooth connectivity as standard. View essential workout information, including time, distance, stroke rate, pace and power output in watts. Heart rate data is also available when paired with a compatible chest strap.

Connect with supported training applications to add variety and motivation to your exercise routine. Compatible options include WaterRower Connect, CITYROW, Peloton, EXR, Kinomap and asensei. Bluetooth connectivity allows you to explore digital training experiences without requiring a separate ComModule.

Premium Hardwood Craftsmanship

The Original Series combines functional engineering with the natural beauty of solid hardwood. Each machine is handcrafted in New England using established manufacturing techniques and carefully finished wood. Available wood options allow you to choose a style that complements your interior, while the sturdy frame is designed for regular use and long-lasting appeal.

Space-Saving Upright Storage

Enjoy the benefits of a full rowing workout without permanently dedicating a large area of your home to fitness equipment. After exercising, the WaterRower can be raised into an upright storage position, occupying approximately the floor space of a chair. Integrated transport wheels make it easier to reposition the machine when necessary.
